Memory
Memory builds a little pathway that goes winding through
my heart.
It's a lovely, quiet, gentle trail from other things apart.
I only meet when traveling there the folks I like the
best,
For this road I call remembrance is hidden from the rest…
But I hope I'll always find you in my memory rendezvous,
For I keep this little, secret place to meet with folks
like you

A
Friend
Once in an age God sends to some of us a friend,
who loves not a false imagining, an unreal character in us; but looking
through all the rubbish of our imperfections, loves in us the divine
ideal of our natures--
not the man that we are, but the angel that we may be.

The
Symptoms of Inner Peace
1. A tendency to think and act spontaneously, rather than from fears
based on past experiences.
2. An unmistakable ability to enjoy each moment.
3. A loss of interest in judging others.
4. A loss of interest in judging self.
5. A loss of interest in conflict.
6. A loss of interest in interpreting the actions of others.
7. Frequent overwhelming episodes of appreciation.
8. Frequent attacks of smiling through the heart.
9. Increasing susceptibility to love extended by others, as well as
the uncontrollable urge to extend it.
10. An increasing tendency to let things happen, rather than manipulating
them and make them happen.

Lake
McMurray
Written
by: Dick Adams (my Dad)
when he was a boy
Lake McMurray full of fish
To fill every fisherman's needed wish
The fish come big,
Not under a pound,
And when they hit your lure,
My what a sound.
So if catching fish is your big worry
Come on out to Lake McMurray!
Lake
McMurray
Written
by: Laurie Adams
about 1980
Lake McMurray is no big lake,
But even so, it's a piece of cake
To catch many a fish on opening day
That comes around the first of May
The fish come big, the fish come small,
But if you want you can keep them all.
Your limit is 8, so don't be a pig
Come to our lake where the fish are big! |

God,
Thank You So Much
Written around 1985 by Laurie Adams
God thank you so much...
for little children
their laughter and love lift my spirits
for the love in my boyfriend's eyes
it makes me feel like I'm somebody
for genuine smiles
they make me happy
for animal companions
the trust in their eyes make me feel loved
for mothers with encouraging words
they give me the optimism I need
for strong but gentle fathers
they make me feel protected
for uplifting and comforting music
it soothes my soul
for peaceful and tranquil mountains
being surrounded by them uplifts my heart
for all creatures
everyone should take lessons from their knowledge
for the caring people of the world
knowing they're out there gives me strength
for the waters and seas of the world
their beauty makes me proud to be part of God's creation
for Jesus Christ
knowing that whatever happens, he is there for you. |

A
Blessing
Oh God, how thankful we should be!
Thankful to you for so many blessings
Thankful that we have such an abundance of food
Thankful that we have such pleasant warm houses in which to live
Thankful for the love of our family and friends
I do not think at times we realize how very fortunate we are
Not only for the obvious blessings, but the not so obvious ones as
well….
To be born in a country of freedom
To have been raised knowing you, God
To have a mother, father, sister, brother, who although may have differences
than yourself, are loving and kind and always full of
support.
To have friends and loved ones who see the world with a loving heart
and whose kindness and thoughtfulness teaches us all how
we should be…
Let us take this time, God, to remember to always hold this thankfulness
we feel, close in our heart
To remember to not take our blessings for granted, ever…
And to see all the many blessings that come in each day of our lives,
And to thank you for them.
Amen |

Smiling
Smiling is infectious,
you catch it like the flu,
When someone smiled at me today,
I started smiling too.
I passed around the corner
and someone saw my grin
When he smiled I realized
I'd passed it on to him .
I thought about that smile
then I realized its worth,
A single smile, just like mine
could travel round the earth.
So, if you feel a smile begin,
don't leave it undetected
Let's start an epidemic quick,
and get the world infected!
Keep the smile going
by sending this on to a friend.
Everyone needs a smile!!! :)

| A
Tribute to the Patron Saint of Love
Where
there is love the heart is light,
Where there is love the day is bright,
Where there is love there is a song
To help when things are going wrong,
Where there is love there is a smile
To make all things seem more worthwhile,
Where there is love there's quiet peace,
A tranquil place where turmoils cease--
Love changes darkness into light
And makes the heart take "wingless flight"--
Oh, blest are they who walk in love,
They also walk with God above--
For God is love and through love alone
Man finds the joy that the saints have known.

| Comfort
When
your heart is sad and lonely,
And your friends seem far away,
Turn to Him Who is all holy,
And He'll drive your cares away.
When
a dear one seems to fail you,
When for friendship true you long,
Confide in Him Who is all true,
And He'll right your every wrong.
Jesus'
heart is your true refuge,
To Him you can always flee,
Even when your hopes are sinking,
He will then a True Friend be.
He
will soothe your lonely spirit,
He will love and bless and say,
"Come to Me and I will comfort
You, today and every day."
The
Sky and the stars, the waves and the sea,
The dew on the grass, the leaves on a tree
Are constant reminders of God and His nearness,
Proclaiming His presence with crystal-like clearness.

| IT'S
ME AGAIN GOD
Remember
me God?
I come every day
Just to talk with you Lord
And to learn how to pray.
You reach out your hand
Need never explain
For you understand.
I come to you frightened
And burdened with care
So lonely and lost
And so filled with despair
And suddenly, Lord,
I'm no longer afraid-
My burden is lighter
And the dark shadows fade.
Oh God what a comfort
To know that you care
And to know when I seek you
You will always be there.
